Biography
Laura Sofía de Sanctis Natera (born June 28, 1996, in Panama City) is a Panamanian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Señorita Panamá 2017 and represented Panama at the Miss Universe 2017.
Laura was born and raised in Panama City, studied at the Isaac Rabin Bilingual School in City of Knowledge, Clayton. She is the youngest of four brothers, born in a family of an Italian father with a Panamanian mother.
Laura is also a student of social communication, she has stood out as a model, for her participation in catwalks and editorial publications.
Career
Laura was born and raised in Panama City. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications.
The Miss Panama World contest was held at the Atlapa Convention Center on July 4, 2017. Twenty contestants from all over Panama competed for the prestigious title. As part of the rules of the Miss World Organization, the election of the new representative for Miss World 2017 was held in a separate competition from the traditional national election.
Laura de Semantics was placed in the table of semifinalists of the contest being at the end of the event as the fourth finalist, after the Panamanian Julianne Britton took the award to represent the country on November 18, 2017, in the city of Sanya, China in Miss World 2017.
2016
Laura finished as the 1st Runner-up at Miss Panamá 2016 represented Panamá Province. Meanwhile, the official winner was Keity Drennan from Panamá Centro crowned as 2016 winner and competed at Miss Universe 2016 in Manila, Philippines.

2017
Laura was crowned Señorita Panamá 2017 on August 25, 2017, at Atlapa Convention Centre in Panama City and then competed at the Miss Universe 2017. She represented the Contadora island.
Laura represented Panama at the Miss Universe 2017 but Unplaced. She did however win Miss Congeniality.
